3rd team get the biggest win of the day against NNK

Hammies 3rds had a comfortable win against the usually highly physical and competitive NNK at Hammies on Saturday. This weekend that simply was not the case with Hammies running in no less than 11 tries.

3rd XV make it 2 from 2 to start the season

It was de ja vu as Hammies 3rds kicked off once again at Brackenfell. Once again it was dry, hot and dusty conditions that greeted the players for the 2nd time in 3 weeks. 3rd XV with an opening season win over the Bay

Hammies 3rds powered their way to a hard fought 20 -7 victory over False Bay at Hamilton on Saturday.

On a dry warm day, the conditions were really good for running rugby and Hammies 3rd’s delivered a  big win for the club over the 2016 league champions.

3rd XV Derby Day Match Report

The 140 th Derby Day kicked off with the 3rd teams locking horns in pleasant but windy conditions on Saturday. Hammies made the early running and quickly settled into a decent rhythm against a fired up Villager.
After some nice interplay Jason Poleman stepped through to open the scoring under the posts.

Derby Day 2017

The 140th Derby Day is tomorrow with a full house of fixtures and entertainment on the cards. With this fixture dating back to the 1800’s it deserves all the spotlight

Hammies 3rds slump to a disappointing 2nd defeat of the season

Having home advantage and in soggy conditions, Hamilton’s failed to start well and it was the visitors who scored an early well worked try through their speedy backline to go 7 nil up.  Early defensive woes were then set aside. 3rd’s see red at False Bay

It had to happen sooner or later and this weekend Hammies 3rd’s lost their unbeaten run going back into middle of last season, downed 27-12 to an excellent False Bay side on Saturday.

False Bay scored twice inside the 1st quarter with some great line breaks and quick counter attack breaching our defence and then great support play to round off both scores which were also very well converted in windy conditions.

Lazz hatrick gives the 3rd XV 5 points Tygerberg

Last season Hammies 3rds put 90 odd points past Tygerberg. This year it was a different story.
In what quickly became a difficult day, Hammies were disrupted before kick off with winger Dean Wolmarans pulling up with a hamstring injury. Poor Dean couldn’t take part at all, so really bad luck for him. Wish you a speedy recovery.
