Klaasen shows his class in local derby win!

Last year’s SLA top try scorer with 14 tries – Centre, Harlon Klaasen showed why he was signed by WP. Making only his second start of the season after returning from provincial duty, he scored a first half hat-trick of tries and then added a fourth in the second half. Bartels runs past Pniel

Hamilton SP-RFC disappointed after the surprise home loss against Tygerberg RFC a week ago wanted to prove why they are still top of the SLA log when they visited bottom of the league table, Pniel-Villagers RFC on Saturday. With several players out injured, Head Coach, Niekkie Viljoen ran the changes for this away outing. He gave 1st team debuts to the former Puma Scrumhalf, Johan Herbst and to the young talented Nathan Meilhon (Prop) who had returned from a season playing rugby in France. Harlon Klaassen also made a welcome return from the WP squad duties, while Luke van der Smit (Loose Forward) and Grant Muller (Hooker) returned from our Seccies. Mackenzie does it again the 3rds power past Tygerberg

Long serving Hammies centre Dan Mackenzie really does enjoy a home a fixture and on Saturday it showed as he produced yet again for the 3rds with no less than 4 tries in a single match.

This is not the first time we have seen Dan with a nose for the try line, but this past week against Tygerberg he was a bulldozer personified and at his very best. Well played man of the match Dan!

U20 A’s get back to winning ways

After coming off four consecutive losses, the U20A were keen to get back into winning ways.  During the two-week break, we didn’t stop working hard and it showed in their performance against Tygerberg.  We knew Tygerberg weren’t going to be an easy side as they are sitting third on the log and has put in some massive performances against tough opponents. Hamilton’s get five points for win at the Green Mile

2009 was the last time Hamilton SP-RFC beat UCT at the Green Mile when Alshaun Bock scored the winning try in the far corner in the last move of the game. Eight years has been a long wait for a Hammies victory as the class of 2017 outscored Ikeys by 5 tries to four for a fantastic 33 – 26 away win.
