Saturday was to be the biggest test we have faced so far this season. False Bay are always a hard team to play at The Bay.
We had gone into this game unbeaten but False Bay had not conceded a try in their last 6 games. There had been quite a bit of banter between the teams through the week as False Bay had a few Hammies old boys and family of Hammies players which just added to the excitement of the game. It had to happen sooner or later and this weekend Hammies 3rd’s lost their unbeaten run going back into middle of last season, downed 27-12 to an excellent False Bay side on Saturday.
False Bay scored twice inside the 1st quarter with some great line breaks and quick counter attack breaching our defence and then great support play to round off both scores which were also very well converted in windy conditions.

The Hammies juniors have been treated to a busy itinerary since the beginning of May. This included a Friday afternoon fixture away at Kirstenhof Primary and our U11’s and 13’s participating in the Tableview 10’s. Continue reading Weekend Round up from the Juniors
The match at Hamiltons on Saturday was a humdinger as the game ebbed and flowed with both teams fighting for every meter they gained.

On another beautiful day for rugby at Stephan way, the Hamilton’s 2nd XV carried on against Belhar where they left off against Brackenfell. Even with a week’s break between games they managed to keep the momentum. Continue reading Second XV see off Belhar in style
Daniel MacKenzie bagged 4 tries as Hamilton’s claimed another bonus point win against a much improved Belhar on Saturday.
McKenzies hat-rick came inside of 30 minutes as the Hammies backs ran the ball from all corners in favourable conditions.
In an entertaining game, it was Belhar that showed much improvement in their play from last season but ultimately had no answer to the hard and direct running from Hamilton’s back row and centres in particular.

Leading up to this weekend’s match versus Belhar we knew that it was going to be a tough encounter as they have only lost one game leading up to this match. Coming off from a bye from the previous weekend, the U20’s were well rested and keen to keep their winning momentum going. Continue reading Belhar sink the U20’s

After coming off four out of four wins, the U20s were keen to keep this winning momentum going forward to a tough encounter against newly promoted Brackenfell side. We knew it wasn’t going to be an easy game as we played them a few months ago in a
friendly match and the U20s managed to grind out a win in that game as well.
