Klaasen shows his class in local derby win!

Last year’s SLA top try scorer with 14 tries – Centre, Harlon Klaasen showed why he was signed by WP. Making only his second start of the season after returning from provincial duty, he scored a first half hat-trick of tries and then added a fourth in the second half. Bartels runs past Pniel

Hamilton SP-RFC disappointed after the surprise home loss against Tygerberg RFC a week ago wanted to prove why they are still top of the SLA log when they visited bottom of the league table, Pniel-Villagers RFC on Saturday. With several players out injured, Head Coach, Niekkie Viljoen ran the changes for this away outing. He gave 1st team debuts to the former Puma Scrumhalf, Johan Herbst and to the young talented Nathan Meilhon (Prop) who had returned from a season playing rugby in France. Harlon Klaassen also made a welcome return from the WP squad duties, while Luke van der Smit (Loose Forward) and Grant Muller (Hooker) returned from our Seccies. Hamilton’s get five points for win at the Green Mile

2009 was the last time Hamilton SP-RFC beat UCT at the Green Mile when Alshaun Bock scored the winning try in the far corner in the last move of the game. Eight years has been a long wait for a Hammies victory as the class of 2017 outscored Ikeys by 5 tries to four for a fantastic 33 – 26 away win. Solid away win puts Hammies back on Top!

The loss of Winger, Brandon Asher-Wood and Fullback; Marlo Weich who have both joined the SA Rugby 7’s Academy and the SWD Eagles respectively during this past week did not place any damper on the well-drilled Hamilton outfit.

Weich continues his scintillating form…

After returning from a short international tour to Georgia with the WP Rugby Academy – Fullback, Marlo Weich continued his excellent form by scoring no fewer than four tries for Hamilton SP-RFC in their big 55 – 6 away at Primrose on Saturday. Amazingly Marlo Weich also scored all five of the WP Academy tries in there three match series against the Georgian u/20 team who are preparing to participate and host the Under 20 – Rugby World Cup. Seccies ruthless as UniMil lose 1st game

After a good win against NNK two weeks ago and another break between game we face the unbeaten Unimil.

Seccies continue to build their season

After a good win against Brackenfell two weeks ago the Seccies were looking to build on that performance. We had spoken during the week that we needed to be more clinical in our execution of plays and ensure that the pressure that we built was turned into points.

3rd XV with an opening season win over the Bay

Hammies 3rds powered their way to a hard fought 20 -7 victory over False Bay at Hamilton on Saturday.

On a dry warm day, the conditions were really good for running rugby and Hammies 3rd’s delivered a  big win for the club over the 2016 league champions.

Belhar Blues for 1st XV


The match at Hamiltons on Saturday was a humdinger as the game ebbed and flowed with both teams fighting for every meter they gained.
Belhar took on our pack and managed to neutralize our threat off set phase attack which forced the players to really pull together as they realised that they were in a battle against a side sitting in the top half of the SLA log.  Continue reading Belhar Blues for 1st XV
