Seccies continue to build their season

After a good win against Brackenfell two weeks ago the Seccies were looking to build on that performance. We had spoken during the week that we needed to be more clinical in our execution of plays and ensure that the pressure that we built was turned into points.

This had been an issue for us over the two league games played so far. Continue reading Seccies continue to build their season

3rd team get the biggest win of the day against NNK

Hammies 3rds had a comfortable win against the usually highly physical and competitive NNK at Hammies on Saturday. This weekend that simply was not the case with Hammies running in no less than 11 tries.
Once again hot and dry conditions {seems to be a theme so far this season} greeted the players who were keen and ready as always for a home fixture.  Continue reading 3rd team get the biggest win of the day against NNK

Hammies 3rds slump to a disappointing 2nd defeat of the season

Crushing defeat to DurBell before the mid season break

Solid win earned at DurBell for the U20 A

With the last game remaining until the league goes on a break, the U20’s wanted to end off the first half the season with a victory against Durbanville – Bellville. The match was played under Friday night lights at very cold DurBell. We played a warm up game against them  before the season commenced and we knew they were going to be very physical and play with lots of speed and precision. 1st XV win at Florida Park with the fightback of the season

As anticipated the trip out to Florida Park to face a resurgent Tygerberg was as challenging as expected.

Lazz hatrick gives the 3rd XV 5 points Tygerberg

Last season Hammies 3rds put 90 odd points past Tygerberg. This year it was a different story.
In what quickly became a difficult day, Hammies were disrupted before kick off with winger Dean Wolmarans pulling up with a hamstring injury. Poor Dean couldn’t take part at all, so really bad luck for him. Wish you a speedy recovery.

Belhar Blues for 1st XV

The match at Hamiltons on Saturday was a humdinger as the game ebbed and flowed with both teams fighting for every meter they gained.
Belhar took on our pack and managed to neutralize our threat off set phase attack which forced the players to really pull together as they realised that they were in a battle against a side sitting in the top half of the SLA log.  Continue reading Belhar Blues for 1st XV
